Foreign Enterprises Develop Faster in Henan
On March 26 this year, a foreign enterprise named Yuhe New Energy Technology (Henan) Co., Ltd quietly settled in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone. Only half a month later, the company won 74.84 mu of land in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone with 18.17 million yuan. The news was soon reported by various financial and economic media across the province in the form of news flash, attracting a lot of attention.
Why? According to the industrial and commercial registration information, the Yuhe New Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Evergrande NEVS, and its business scope includes sales of automobile charging modules, new energy vehicle manufacturing, etc. Since then, the news that the new energy vehicle project and power battery project of Evergrande Group settled in Henan has been confirmed.
“The significance of Evergrande’s new energy vehicle project in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone is not as simple as the introduction of an automobile manufacturing enterprise. It is foreseeable that under the leadership of Evergrande’s new energy industry, a large number of upstream and downstream enterprises will settle in Henan, which will not only provide a large number of jobs, but also drive the development of automobile parts logistics, service trade, automobile finance and other related fields.” The head of the Foreign Investment Management Office of the Department of Commerce spoke highly of Evergrande new energy enterprise’s settlement in Henan.
Unlike Evergrande, few have found that there is another new energy vehicle enterprise landed in Henan. On January 3 this year, Tesla Motors Hong Kong Limited completed the industrial and commercial registration in Zhengzhou Area of Henan Pilot Free Trade Zone. Its business scope is also very clear: automobile, auto parts, solar charger, charging pile; rental of cars, charging equipment, etc.
In the first quartet, apart from the “new friends” like Evergrande’s new energy enterprise and Tesla’s settlement in Henan, the “old friends” like Hong Kong China Resources repeatedly increase the investments.
According to the data provided by the Department of Commerce, In the first two months of this year, China resources power has set up four companies in Luohe, Xinxiang and Shangqiu, all investing in wind farm development, construction, operation, power sales and providing wind farm development, construction and other technical services.
In addition, Yihai Kerry Group and Everbright Clean Energy Company have also invested in Henan in the first quarter of this year.
At present, the foreign investment environment in Henan continues to be optimized, which makes it more and more attractive to foreign investment. At the 13th China Henan International Fair for Investment and Trade held not long ago, leaders of several world top 500 companies and multinational companies including GE, Grevo and Thailand CP Group expressed their willingness to invest in Henan. On the second day after the fair, Zheng Xiangling, President of CP Pharmaceutical Group, led a team to have a discussion with more than 70 pharmaceutical enterprises in Zhengzhou and Luoyang with strong cooperation intention.
